OUR UPCOMING EVENTS

THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 9, AT 6:30 PM
"DEADLINES" by PAUL McHUGH

Paul McHugh is a writer and adventurer, besides being an award-winning Bay Area writer with a long history in journalism, reporting for San Francisco Post and contributing to New York Times, the Washington Post and several California newspapers and national magazines.  He was also the first newspaper journalist the SEAL team allowed unfettered access to the breadth of Seal training conducted here in Coronado.

McHugh is now devoting his time to writing novels - and his second novel
"DEADLINES" has received many accolades:  DAN RATHER writes: "Every reporter worth his or hers notepad is a sleuth at heart.  McHugh brings the truth to life with this crackling suspense."  NY Times best-selling author
JOHN LESCROART  says:  A companionable, rock-solid, and soul-satisfying mystery.  "DEADLINES" COULD NOT BE MORE MODERN AND RELEVANT."
And the subject in the novel is very relevant:  Large development corporation trying to take over a stretch of California shoreline -  an elderly land-use activist is found dead and it appears to have been a murder disguised as an accident.  A veteran columnist (much to his dislike) is being assigned to watch over and mentor a young reporter -  and that really gets things flying.  At stake is not only their lives, but also the fate of the California Coast.  It is truly a page-turner with unforgettable characters and a realistic view of crime. A book you will find hard to put down.
