"A quick, but thought provoking read made up of ancient principles still important today. A dash of history and a dose of wisdom - perfect for you or any knight or lady in your life."

"One of the BEST Historical fiction books I have read! Being a tomboy in rural Texas at the turn of the century was difficult even with 6 brothers... the conflict between being a "lady" or a naturalist like her beloved Grandfather rings true. 5 STARS!" "If you read the Author's note this recommendation may be only a tease and not necessary! After completing this historical novel, I keep recalling the quote..."If you don't know history you are doomed to repeat it." WWII...Nazi high ranking soldiers who find themselves mentally challenged/who are at the end of their rope/who are avoiding service or even darker...who are out to enrich their purse, find themselves in a mental ward at a Nazi hospital. "Drop" in two English pilots who do know who/where/what they need to do to return to England! Absolutely WONDERFUL... this book will stay with you... bother you and make you ask questions!" "FIVE STAR - POWERFUL READ!! "This novel was written BEFORE "To Kill A Mockingbird." You will notice some familiar characters and some new ones. Harper Lee's insights from the 1950's are very current for some of the racial inequalities going on in today's society. Very poignant! A worthwhile read!" "Two high school graduates, with only the funds from their bicycle shop, go up against those with post-graduate educations and government grants and other funding. "I just finished this, and I highly recommend it. The plot is well structured, the characters are fully drawn - and of course Dorothy Parker as a ghost is intriguing. Meister wrote an earlier Dorothy Parker book, but this is better and does now require having read the first one." "Cow Tom is a Black Creek native American who has such a depth of empathy for all he meets that his life is a continuous battle to do good. His ability to learn languages affords him an unusual advantage... or disadvantage!...to witness the early U.S. government's negotiations with Indian treaties. As Native Americans are "relocated," Cow Tom's family and loved ones suffer severe hardships as they attempt to keep the family together on their farms. When finally freed form slavery and given rights as Native Americans, Cow Tom begins to believe that his granddaughter, Rose, may see his dreams come to fruition. Historical Fiction at it's best! "A quick read that provides rare insights into the White House offering unique views of the executive mansion from the perspective of the long serving staff that cares for the residence and the first family. This book covers a span from the Kennedy to the Obama administrations. While it provides limited insight into the private details and personalities of the various first families, it focuses mostly on the efforts and dedication of the staff to care for and protect the Presidents and their families. A great read! Definitely recommend!" "This story takes place in 17th century France. Our story focuses on noblewoman Charlotte - Rose de la Force. What is Charlotte's fate? Read and find out! |
