"If you read the Author's note this recommendation may be only a tease and not necessary! After completing this historical novel, I keep recalling the quote..."If you don't know history you are doomed to repeat it." WWII...Nazi high ranking soldiers who find themselves mentally challenged/who are at the end of their rope/who are avoiding service or even darker...who are out to enrich their purse, find themselves in a mental ward at a Nazi hospital. "Drop" in two English pilots who do know who/where/what they need to do to return to England! Absolutely WONDERFUL... this book will stay with you... bother you and make you ask questions!"

"Cow Tom is a Black Creek native American who has such a depth of empathy for all he meets that his life is a continuous battle to do good. His ability to learn languages affords him an unusual advantage... or disadvantage!...to witness the early U.S. government's negotiations with Indian treaties. As Native Americans are "relocated," Cow Tom's family and loved ones suffer severe hardships as they attempt to keep the family together on their farms. When finally freed form slavery and given rights as Native Americans, Cow Tom begins to believe that his granddaughter, Rose, may see his dreams come to fruition. Historical Fiction at it's best! "Straight form the headlines! CIA (hacking) investigating our elected officials. Hackers conference in Las Vegas with the Wall of Sheep showing REAL TIME hacking of ANY electric technology! Believe it and WEEP! "This is not and easy book/story to read! Parents want the very best for their child/children, but when there isn't a choice about what those options really are... what do the parents do? When Dawn introduces her parents to her boyfriend, Ruud, her parents know that there are problems with this daughter's choice. Perhaps they have been denying more about their daughter's life than they want to admit. If you liked the book "Defending Jacob", you will find this a great companion read." "When Grandmother Addie Baum recounts her life to her Granddaughter, life in Boston as a young Jewish girl in the 1900's comes to life. The coming of age for both Grandmother & Granddaughter is a sweet - refreshing read." "Solving a 50+ year old case plus new clues that might solve the case of two former partners would be a feather in Carl Mørck + Department Q's hat! If Carl didn't have to contend with his office helpers - or - maybe it is because of them that he might climb out of the basement & Department Q. "If you called him John Wayne he knew you weren’t a close friend. He was DUKE! Who knew that his movie making desires started as a young man and continued through successful years of making great movies? A chess playing Shakespeare quoting thespian!" "Wonderful!! For Young Adults :) How could two young people find so much humor and joy when both know they have cancer. Excellent writing and a page turner make this a pleasure - not a downer - to read." "If you are an animal lover or have a dog this book is a MUST READ! It's all about caring, feeling and the responsibility of owning a pet. Tips on food, vet care, exercise - very informative and fun." "It's a confusing world for Starla whose mother has run off to become a singer and whose grandmother "just doesn't understand!" Starla takes out for Nashville to find her mother but meets Eula, a young black girl who's even more lost in a life that has no good ending. This is sure to become a favorite!" |
